OysterFest

OMG, what a weekend, good and bad.  I did a set at OysterFest on Saturday.  I didn't really do a sound check which was a big mistake.  While I was singing, I couldn't hear myself.  When I asked them to turn up the monitors, I just heard feedback.  Each time they tried to get me to hear myself the feedback got worse.  I only sang 4 songs and couldn't continue.  Try putting your fingers in your ears and then talk to people.  You will sound funny and probably be yelling.  That's what it was like for me.  Tim Wright who is in charge of the sound wasn't there at the time.  When he found out later the problems I had, he felt terrible.  Tim called us that night, said they fixed the issue and asked if I would please come back on Sunday.  I did a set on Sunday at 2:30pm.  Wow, what a difference!  I could hear myself perfectly.  Thanks to everyone that came down!  The place was packed!  I love performing in my town, so I'm so glad it worked out in the end.

Music From The Hive

This is a cool show that I did a while back and tonights was there big anniversary show.  All original songs, 4 performers on stage and going from one to another.  Only 2 songs each, but it was great to listen to all the other talent out there.  Couldn't stay the whole night, because I had a school project to finish, but I ended up getting it all done.  Thanks to Mark & Naomi for putting this on!

Huntington Fall Festival

So straight from the Autism Speaks event, we raced to Huntington to perform in the Fall Festival.  Nobody bothered to tell us that there was also a parade in Huntington and Main Street is closed down.  On of the police we talked to was really an a$$h... (not supposed to use that word) and another was really nice.  We explained that we needed to get to the park, but he said he's not from the area and couldn't tell us another way.  Luckily John Chicherio from the festival was able to talk us through a route to get close and then picked up my equipment in a golf cart!  Great show with a lot of people!

Autism Speaks

So check it out, there were 30,000 people in Jones Beach Field 5.  I thought they must have meant 3,000, but when we got there we couldn't believe how many people were there.  They had speakers everywhere, so that people way far away could still hear me.  Check out the picture with the Jumbotron!  Someone emailed me that they saw me from the highway.

MEANY Fest

Great night tonight at MEANY Festival at the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC.  This was a really cool place and was kind of a last minute thing, but there still were a bunch of fans there!!!

Sayville Seafood Festival / Autism Speaks Farmingdale

So glad it didn't rain, the weather channel said it was going to. This festival was supposed to be in August, but Hurricane Irene ended that.  I was at a cool park in West Sayville right on the water.  I wish I could have hung out there longer, but had to leave to sing at an Autism Speaks event at Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale.  It was a battle of the bands type thing.  I'm technically not a band, but gave them as much sound as I have (to do battle).  I couldn't stay there after either, yet another event to go to.  At least I don't have to think about practicing tonight, I sang enough for one day!

Party!

I took 10 friends to the bowling alley for a bowling party.  So much fun!  After, most of my friends came back to my house and we all hung out in my tipi.  That's right, we have a huge tipi in our backyard.  My dad lit the fire and then we all of played music, danced, sang all night.  I think it was my best birthday party yet!

BIRTHDAY!!!

Had a great day!  Was in the recording studio most of the day getting the final mix of my newest original "Until It's Gone".  Then we went out to eat at this place Luce that has been in Oyster Bay for years, but for some reason we never tried it.  Wow, the food was great!  Can't wait to go back.

Last Cruise Night of this Summer

Title says it all.  This was the last night that Oyster Bay is seeing me as a 12 year old, tomorrow's my birthday!  The Voodoo channel guys also came down to film a live performance.  After my family went to our favorite restaurant, Coach Tavern in Oyster Bay.

Voodoo Channel Interview

When I was playing Cruise Night on Aug 23rd, this guy Charlle came up to my mom and said how much he liked my singing.  He said that he wanted to do a feature on me for his website.  So I played in their studio and had an interview.  I can't wait to see how it turned out.  The voodoo channel, voodoochannel.com get's around 6,000 hits a day, so a lot of people will be seeing me!

School :(

Actually, it wasn't that bad.  I had not gotten my schedule, so I had to deal with that when I got there.  I think they messed up most of my grades schedules, so I wasn't alone.  It's great to see all my friends that I didn't see over the summer!  Homework already started argh!

Tanger Outlet

I had never been to this outlet, it's HUGE!  Can't wait to come back here and go shopping.  There is a square in the middle with a stage across from a huge fountain and then stores all around.  Pretty cool place.  Sold a bunch of CD's, so that's never bad!

Cruise Night, once again

Sang in Oyster Bay for my 4th night this summer.  I love performing in my own town.  There was a great crowd and beautiful night.  Only had 1 really loud car drive by while in mid song, so that's not so bad, usually there are a bunch and a fire truck siren or two.

Soccer Tournament

Well, it was a huge field with like 5 different soccer games, but most people were there to see soccer   Also, there were noisy carnival type machines there, so I wasn't loving this place.  At least there was an actual stage!

YMCA

No, I wasn't working out at the Y, but I did perform for the kids there.  It's the Prospect Park armory.  I was suck a huge, cool room, that I took this panaromic picture to show what I mean.  There were hundreds and hundreds of kids!

Northport Summerfest Concert

It was the perfect night for a summer concert in the pretty town of Northport, Long Island. They have a summer music series in a beautiful park on the water. I opened up for a motown revue band called Chaser. There were hundreds of people who came out and brought chairs, blankets and all dogs of all shapes and sizes! The crowd started gathering near me after I started singing and the response was amazing! The best was: 2 girls that saw me perform at their Girl Scout Camp Edey came out, sat right in the front and had on custom t-shirts that they made themselves with my name on the front and all of my songs on the back! It was so awesome. I took a picture with them. Thanks to Tina Fries for hooking me up with this great event.

Photo Shoot in Brooklyn, NY

I needed new photos for my website and "PR" stuff. The last ones were from a year ago and I looked so young in them! So I called up my good friend and amazing photographer, Michael Jurick. He and his lighting assistant Adam met me and my mom in a funky Brooklyn warehouse district. We had such a great time finding cool backgrounds like graffiti art, wall murals, the NYC skyline and a super funky lobby of a building that we had to sneak into! I had brought all of my musical instruments to pose with as props. There was a great sunset and the weather was perfect. Here is a sneak peak of one of the photos.

Camps R Us, Hicksville, Valley Stream, Bellmore

3 camps, on 3 different afternoons.  The camp shows were great.  We used our sound system, so we knew I would be heard everywhere.  Autographs for a while after each show.  I was at most of the camps last year too.

Six Flags Great Adventure

Well, it was an adventure.  Don't get me started!  About 115 degrees on the stage (was it really a stage?).  The sound was good (was it, couldn't tell above the noise coming out of the Coca-cola booth?)  Have to be honest, wasn't a great adventure at all.  Sorry for the NJ people that want to see me play, won't be there again anytime soon!

Tri State Sound Show

This was at the Maguire Theater at SUNY Old Westbury College.   Good sounds system and we knew a bunch of people there.  My dad didn't make it because he's out fishing all weekend with "the boys".  I'm hoping he catches me some Tuna!
